When I turned out 18, me and my friend Kelly called to our local tattoo parlor and made an appointment. Kelly was already determined what she wanted. Because she had always loved Tigger she thought that this should be permanently drawn on her body. For me a childish tattoo was not exactly something I would get drawn on my skin for my 18th birthday. I wasn't completely sure about what I was looking for but I was sure that it had to be something special to me. Maybe something that symbolized who I were and where I came from. We got to the tattoo parlor and hour early so that I could check every tattoo book they had. I was hoping that I would know what I want when I would see it, because I wasn't really sure what I was looking for.

The first tattoo book I checked had some really incredible scary looking drawings that I couldn't imagine to have on my body. But I guess others could. I wanted something simple and feminine, something that would look attractive on my ankle. And I was still hoping that these tattoo books would show me what I was looking for. I saw pages of hideous tattoos and as well as some really brilliant ones in the first 30 minutes. But I wasn't attracted by any of them. I started to feel incredibly discouraged. One of the tattoo artist joined me and tried to help me. He was asking me a lot of questions about who I were, what I liked, what were my beliefs.

After 5 minutes of conversation he stood up and picked up one of the tattoo books that I have not yet glanced through. He flipped through several pages until he found what he was looking for. He smiled, gave me the book and pointed at the tattoo. I smiled as well. He was pointing at elegant and cute little dolphin. It represented me in many ways. The dolphin had rainbow of colors on it - and I was an artist. I loved the ocean and everything connected to it and dolphins were my favorite animals that God created. The drawing was perfect. I nodded. I finally found what I was looking for.

Last weekend another friend of mine was looking for a tattoo and I helped her out. She had the same problems as me. And after she had found tattoo that she wanted, I sat in the parlor and glanced the tattoo books again just for the purpose of passing time. And in the first tattoo book I opened I found something that made me smile. Here we go again! Few hours later my friend and me walked out of the tattoo parlor, with smiles on our faces. So beware! If you are planning to get a tattoo - the stacks of tattoo books can be quite addictive sometimes.
